One of Asia's largest film festivals kicks off with starry red carpet

(6 Oct 2021) ONE OF ASIA’S LARGEST FILM FESTIVALS KICKS OFF WITH STARRY RED CARPET
The rising number of COVID-19 cases in South Korea didn’t stop renowned South Korean celebrities and directors from making their annual visit to Busan for the 26th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
At the festival’s opening red carpet event, “Parasite” stars – including renowned director Bong Joon Ho and actor Park So-dam – greeted dozens of journalists and waved to fans looking to get a glimpse of their heroes.
Before the red carpet event, South Korean actors Choi Min-sik and Park Hae-il held a press conference for the opening film “Heaven: To the Land of Happiness.” Choi and Park, the two leads in the film, walked the red carpet together, alongside fellow actors Han So-hee and Song Joong-ki.
BIFF has chosen over 220 films from 70 countries for the festival according to the organizer. However, due to the pandemic, only around a dozen directors and actors have made their way to Busan from abroad.
BIFF will end on October 15.
